The team behind Buckhead's award-winning restaurant Mission + Market, bring their new Italian concept to Sandy Springs. Tre Vele is a modern, elevated Italian restaurant specializing in handmade pasta.
Chef/Partner Ian Winslade is at the helm of Tre Vele and has forged his culinary path at some of the most critically acclaimed restaurants in the country, and has been a mainstay in Atlanta’s dining scene for over two decades. Winslade, who came to the United States from Great Britain at age 22, began his career at New York’s Le Bernardin, widely recognized as one of the world’s finest restaurants. Winslade worked his way from the bakery to the kitchen as a sous chef under Eric Ripert, until he was recruited out west by a former Le Bernardin chef to open Opus. It was during his time in California when he began to immerse himself in multicultural cuisine and experiment with the abundance of fresh regional produce on offer at local farmers markets. “I always try to bring flavor and depth to everything I do,” he says. Winslade made his way to the South in 1994 and has worked in the kitchens of some of Atlanta’s most recognized institutions, including Bluepointe, Spice Market and Market by Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
With a warm and welcoming ambiance, Tre Vele features vibrant greens alongside a 30-foot Carrara marble bar, exposed brick wall, and natural wood accents in a fresh, modern atmosphere. Tony Akly and the Restaurants Consulting Group, Inc., an award-winning full-service design-build firm with a focus on hospitality, led the architectural and interior design of the airy and bright space. Just up the stairs from the dining room is the open-air, wraparound rooftop terrace that includes a bar, comfy seating and fire pits and is the perfect place to begin the night with an Aperitivo or end the night with a relaxing cocktail.
The restaurant also offers an Italian market and café, open for specialty coffee drinks and fresh pastries all day, and retailing house-made pastas, sauces, and prepared meals to go. In addition, the market will retail a specially curated selection of Italian wines while also hosting wine tastings, wine dinners, private events, and pasta-making classes.
